Park Street Bathroom Refresh
Have you ever wanted to fix up your bathroom but thought, "I do not have a budget for this"? Well, good news! You can give your bathroom a quick and beautiful refresh on a pretty small budget and some good 'ole fashioned sweat equity.
Back in 2019, I was spending quite a bit of time at Brent's house. We weren't living together, yet but we were staying over at each other's places. Brent's bathroom was a typical guy bathroom, bare bones and not much frill. As a interior design lover and hobby stager, I desperately wanted to get in there and revamp the space. Especially because I love taking baths and I like a bathroom that is a zen space for relaxing. After talking to Brent about a few of my ideas, he gave me the go ahead. So, I began the bathroom refresh.
You don't need much for a bathroom refresh. The best place to start is paint. The walls of Brents bathroom were initially a slate blue. The bathroom only had one window so there was not much light getting in. The blue was dark and the room felt dark, as well. I started with a fresh coat of while paint on the walls. My go to is Love Letters by Beauti-tone. It instantly freshened up the space.
Next I tackled the vanity. The vanity was a pine wood look that was popular back in the 90's. The vanity itself was pretty solid and didn't necessarily need to be replaced. So, I painted it. I picked out a great dark teal, which was very in vogue at the time, and it transformed the look and feel of not just the vanity but the bathroom. Giving the whole space the coastal, beachy vibe that I was aiming for.
I painted out the mirror, as well. Which was a matching wood tone to the vanity. I gave it a drift wood look by painting it grey then dry brushing on some white and beige paint.
Once the vanity and mirror were refreshed, we added in some shelves behind the toilet and in a small nook area that was not being used effectively.
Lastly was the finishing touches. We took out the vanity lights and added in some modern but rustic sconce lighting, then, added some greenery and organic touched such dried grasses, baskets, framed shells, shells and more. The result was a relaxing, serene coastal vibe that anyone would be able to chill out in.
The whole refresh cost around $500.00. It was very affordable and well worth it for the updated, relaxing space we created.
