Milk Glass: Why is it so Popular? Tour My Collection

Milk glass pieces are a bit harder to find then my other collection of vintage dish-ware, crystal. This is largely due to the fact that milk glass collecting is much more popular.

Milk glass, itself, became popular in the late 1880s and the term "Milk Glass" was coined in the 20th century but it has been around since the 16th century. Also known as "opal glass,' milk glass, describes the opaque white plates, goblets, serving items, and decorative glassware objects that are now collected.

Here's some of my favourite pieces, which I hide around the house in various locations as plant holders, candle holders, jewelry holders, soap dishes, fruit holders and more useful purposes.

It is a beautiful touch to your vintage or eclectic home. If you love hunting for special vintage finds and displaying them in unique ways, milk glass collecting might be for you.
